1829 L&MR Stephenson's ROCKET 0-2-2 Train 50-Stamp Sheet (Leaders of the World)

This locomotive was designed and built by Robert Stephenson. Rocket was designed and built to compete in the Rainhill Trials, a competition to select the locomotive type for the Liverpool and Manchester Railway, in October 1829, which she duly won.
