The Chicago Great Western Railroad (CGW) linked Chicago, Minneapolis, Omaha and Kansas City. Through mergers and new construction, the CGW quickly became a multi-state carrier but was one of the last Class I railroads to be constructed. Nicknamed the "Corn Belt Route" because of its operating area in the mid-west, the railroad was sometimes called the "Lucky Strike Road", due to the similarity in design between the herald of the CGW and the logo used for Lucky Strike cigarettes. It was merged in 1968 into the Chicago & North Western Railway, which abandoned most of CGW's trackage. For auction is an employee pass from the CGW for the year 1927.
