1927 Great Western Railway of England railroad - Great Britain - United Kingdom

£36.22

For auction is a fantastic old booklet and map from the Great Western Railway of England (GWR). The GWR linked London with the southwest and west of England and most of Wales. It was founded in 1833 and ran its first trains in 1838. Perhaps its most famous passenger train was "The Flying Dutchman". The GWR was nationalized in 1948, and its remaining trackage is now a part of British Railways. The booklet, which is dated 1927, is a history of the GWR and was issued in connection with the Centenary Exhibition and Pageant of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, held in Baltimore, Maryland from September 24-October 8, 1927.
