The first is an "Abstract of Parcels and Miscellaneous Traffic Received," printed in red, while the second is a "Summary of Parcel and Miscellaneous Traffic Forwarded," printed in black. The Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway (M&GN) was the largest joint railway system in Britain, jointly operated by the Midland Railway and the Great Northern Railway, later by the LMS and LNER.
