1945 D&RGW Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad - wine list menu

£12.23

The Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad (D&RGW), usually called the "Rio Grande", was a western railroad that served Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico from its origin in 1870. Its primary route was between Denver and Salt Lake City. The D&RGW purchased the Southern Pacific Railroad (SP) in 1988, and the new railroad assumed the name of the SP. The SP was later acquired by the Union Pacific Railroad (UP), and most surviving DRGW lines are now a part of the UP. For auction is a "Wine LIst" from the D&RGW, dated December 20, 1945. It lists wines, whiskies, cocktails, soft drinks and miscellaneous beverages for sale on its trains. A bottle of champaign was $5.00; a shot of bourbon $0.50; a Manhattan or a martini $0.50; a Coca Cola or Pepsi $0.10; and chewing gum $0.05.
