The Pennsylvania Railroad (PARR) was one of the dominant railroad carriers in the US for over a century. For auction a book entitled "Pennsylvania Railroad - Air Brake Examination Questions and Answers for Locomotive Enginemen, Firemen, Hostlers, Conductors and Trainmen". It is dated October 1, 1961. All train employees were expected to take a test on air brakes and achieve a minimum score in order to secure, retain and advance positions. The questions are keyed to 32 pages of photographs and diagrams on brakes, as well as 13 fold-out plates showing brake diagrams and components.
