For auction is rule book from the Chesapeake & Ohio and the Baltimore & Ohio Railroads entitled "Safety Rules"; it is dated October 1, 1968. The C&O took financial control of the B&O in 1963 and ultimately combined the two railroads under the banner "Chessie System". Surviving lines are now a part of CSX Transportation. The book provides both general and specific safety rules that employees must follow in train operations. Specific sections address locomotives, switches, brakes, derricks, maintenance, electrical, equipment handling, welding and cutting, trailers, much more.
