The Kansas City Southern Railroad (KCS) was a Class I US railroad operating in 10 Mid-western and Southeastern states; its tracks were generally between Illinois and Missouri and the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coasts. The Canadian Pacific Railroad (CP) purchased the KCS in 2023, and the two railroads now operate under the name Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC).
