For used locomotives, tenders, coaches, and wagons, minor scratches, paint wear, and signs of handling are unavoidable, even when the item is in otherwise excellent or mint condition. Unless specifically stated as tested and fully operational, older models may benefit from inspection and servicing before regular use.
