Author Doug Ellison grew up in Earlville, NY along the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western’s Utica Division in central New York. From a desire to bring cheap coal to Utica, the line evolved to serve dairy and agricultural interests, textiles, paper, and a plethora of other industries.
