Adlake railroad switch padlock was used by the Atlantic Coast Line (ACL) Railroad. Produced by the Adams & Westlake Company, this heavy-duty steel lock was specifically designed to secure track switching devices, signals, and other railroad equipment. ACL stamped in back Features a sliding swing arm or drop cover to protect the keyhole from weather and debris. The attached iron chain kept the lock tethered to the railroad switch so it wouldn't be lost or stolen.
