Up for consideration is an antique pre-1918 EJ Brooks Co lead sealer for use in a railroad depot to crimp lead tags on shipments for the American Express Company. Face of stamp says “Am Ex Co 899”, so this predates the WW1 era consolidation of the railway express companies into American Railway Express Co.
