A rare antique enamel sign for the South Eastern & Chatham Railway. A joint venture between South Eastern Railway and London, Chatham and Dover Railway. The entity existed between 1899 and 1923 when it was absorbed by Southern Railway. Made from blue and white enamel on a heavy gauge metal with fixing holes for mounting. Obvious evidence of age and weathering with losses of enamel etc. There is a curvature to this long sign, which s not apparent when properly wall mounted. Dimensions approx. L 134cm x H 15cm Please note that the images were taken with the sign laid on grass. Despite efforts to eliminate any stray blades of grass the odd one may be visible still.
