This is a steel reversible sign that fitted into a small wooden crate. These were used to move small ideals such as gauges or gauge glasses from the locomotive works to the MPDs, in this case Redhill, and back. I assume they were used to carry spares between the locations on service trains. Nice item, some wear particularly to the Redhill side but displays well. Measures approx 30cm x 23.5cm.
