BRB report into braking under low adhesion conditions relating to the collision at Copyhold Jct on Wednesday 6 November 1985. Copyhold Jct is on the main line to Brighton. The distance from sighting the relevant double yellow signal, the subsequent single yellow and red signals to the collision was 3100 yards including 520 yards from the red signal to the point of collision (at 15-20mph).
