The old Midland Railway loco shed in Northampton was for many years used as the rail welding training school. It fell into disuse around 25 years ago. The sign shown was recovered around that time. The building was saved from destruction when it was restored for use with Northampton University. The sign is approx 300mm x 1200mm, made from aluminium with painted finish. There is clearly some damage around fixing holes as seen in pics. Proceeds from any sale will go towards furthering local heritage rail projects.
