1963 edition of the instructions for track maintenance staff from the era when gangs were allocated to specific ‘lengths’ of track rather than being mobile. This created local Pride with prizes being given for the best length. Comes with the 1965 Notes for the Guidance of Supervisors, Gangers and Patrolman in the new era of Mobile Mechanised Maintenance which replaced the traditional ’length’ gangs. This pair of booklets are therefore of historic railway significance. Booklets are in good condition and come with the forms of examination of a lookouts, hand signalmen and fog signalmen as a bonus.
