Underground Ticketing System (UTS) machines were supplied by Westinghouse Cubic from late 1987;cards around credit card size carry magnetic strip and a print order code on the reverse. TfL still uses UTS in modified form and hugely reduced quantities, as detailed in Wikipedia.
