Machines were supplied by Westinghouse Cubic from late 1987. TfL still uses UTS in modified form and hugely reduced quantities, as detailed in Wikipedia. Underground Ticketing System (UTS) cards in yellow were used from 1987 until 1993 when pale pink coloured cards replaced them.
