The Aberfeldy branch line was closed to freight and passengers in 1965. The locomotive is ex-Caledonian Railway 439 class 0-4-4T No. 55200, designed by John F. McIntosh. The 439 class was introduced in 1900, and more than 40 locomotives of this class were still in service in 1960.
