Amazing brass heart shaped padlock from the 1890s marked “HAMMACHER, SCHLEMMER & Co” “push shackle in to get key out”RAIL ROAD LOCK. It is very unusual to see the company name embossed on the top shackle and it’s a good looking lock. It appears that someone tried to get access to it sometime in the 1900s with a hammer, and they obviously failed. Other than the dents on the side, it’s in great condition has wonderful original luster, and the iron chain is in good condition as well. I really like the lock cover and it has a great eye appeal.
