Mid 1950s model railway station platform. Probably Hornby/Triang, but no identifying manufacturer’s marks. Combination wood/plywood/fibreboard/tin construction materials. Deliciously dated tin advertising hoardings, one for a defunct brand of cigarettes (oo-er) and one for The News of the Screws, which I think also may not exist any more. Bearing in mind this piece is around seventy years old, it’s in remarkable nick. The Castrol Oil ads have started to peel; there is a small amount of blue felt tip pen on one end; my brother’s name is hand written in pencil on the back (small); and the figures 5/10 are written in pencil underneath, price maybe? Please examine photos for clarification. I have not attempted to erase the pencil marks, leaving that instead for the purchaser.
