A scene from the mid-thirties when Cock o' the North was running in her original form as a Class P2, 2-8-2 locomotive. Only the first two engines of the class were built in this form with semi-streamlined smoke deflectors and cylinder casings, the remaining four locomotives being given a streamlined appearance similar to that of the A4 Pacifies.
