Meccano Type A2 Grey 12V 10 Watts Analogue DC Train Control Unit - Not Working

The unit "hums" when switched on but I have not been able to test it. Usual scuffs ect and missing base plate screws. See photo's. I have listed it as not working. Untested - The light bulb is missing.
