GWR No. 1420 (built November 1933 at Swindon as 4820, renumbered 1420 in 1946) is a preserved member of that class. It worked mainly in Wales and the West Country, was withdrawn in 1964 after ~600,000 miles, and has been based at the South Devon Railway (Buckfastleigh) since 1965. It has carried the name Bulliver in preservation (a local nickname for the Ashburton branch train) and has undergone periodic overhauls; as of recent reports it has been under overhaul with boiler work progressing.  Jeffries’ railway paintings (oils or acrylics) are known for authentic detail from his footplate experience.
