New York Central Lines Silver Sugar Tongs 1920's Shell Pattern Railroad NYC

£88.53

The pattern of these tongs is referred to as Commonwealth and were made by the Reed & Barton Silver Co. of Taunton, Massachusetts. They are clearly marked "N.Y.C. LINES" on the inside. The set would've been used to hold cubes of sugar for adding to sweeten hot coffee, hot tea, iced tea, or other beverages or entrees that could have used sugar.
