Photograph Notes: Taken from across the estuary at Sharpness, this shows the remains of the concrete filled steel pillars which supported the viaduct girders. The two piles of debris in the water in the foreground mark the positions of two more sets of pillars, while out of shot on the sandbank beyond the foreshore are remains of another pair of steel pillars.
