Although it still has the Shrewsbury to Hereford railway line running near it, Dorrington's railway station closed to passengers as long ago as 1958, which was prior to Dr. Beeching's Report. Finally it closed to goods traffic in 1965, ninety nine years after it had opened in 1866.
