Although No. 38.3702 acquired its"Witte" smoke deflectors in later life, the classic lines of this Prussian State Railways KPEV class P-8 4-6-0 (dating from 1908 - although large numbers continued to be built well into the 1920s) - provide stark contrast with Deutsches Bundesbahn standard branchline 2-6-2T No. 64.025 which had first appeared in 1928.
