The darkness outside seemed to pulse in time with the rhythmic hum of the night shift at Backworth Loco Shed. It was a world where the sun dipped below the horizon, and the stars began their twinkling waltz across the velvet expanse.
As a Night Duty Photographer for one of the NCB Locos, I've had the privilege of capturing this magical realm in all its nocturnal glory. My camera lenses have witnessed the shed's secrets, from the gentle glow of lanterns to the rough-hewn beauty of ancient wooden beams.
I'm not just snapping images - I'm witnessing the heartbeat of the loco.
