This was photographed in the garden of Thomas Foster's house Moorton Lodge, Burnage in c1912. Thomas Foster who built the railway is seated behind the train driver. The lady in the front on the right of the photo (standing behind the girl in the hat) is Thomas' daughter Gertrude Foster, who was one of the first female car drivers in the northwest when she drove a De Dion car that Thomas had brought to England from Paris.
