Worksop in Nottinghamshire has always been an important centre for the railway, ever since the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway arrived in the town in 1849. The book covers the period before, during and after closure of the main line to passengers under Beeching, freight operations and reopening as the Robin Hood Line in the 1990s, along with the rise and fall of the branch lines.
