Railwayana: a rare late 19th century railway oil lamp lantern made by Poyard of Paris XX arondissement. This very heavy iron lantern c. 1890 is glazed with brass sheet edge beads, has with integral cast handle and (train) fixing bracket, all housing a brass oil lamp complete with later glass chimney, and brass sliding tray for removal, refuelling and cleaning of the lamp. The lamp is clearly marked "Poyard Paris XX". The lantern weighs 2.35 kg, and stands 15 inches tall, and is 5.5 inches square. Whether you're a Paris Metro enthusiast or not, this lantern is a good and usable decorative piece.
