This is lovely smokebox plate, in superb ex loco condition, still filthy and sooty on the rear and has evidence in the front of where a torch has burnt the paint to remove it. A photo exists showing the white surround embellishment. This loco, was built in Doncaster and into service in May 1945. It gained its BR number on 1st October 1949 and was withdrawn in October 1967. Allocations included Westhouses, Northampton, Bletchley, Nuneaton and Bolton. It will be well wrapped for postage with Parcelforce. I am experienced in wrapping cast iron and other items. Collection also welcome, it alternatively can be taken to the next Bristol/Crewe or Quorn swapmeets to save postage.
