For a little more than 1 hour, you’ll witness the spirit of Roanoke Virginia itself battling through the very steep 4% grade in North Carolina in 1993, which this route was abandoned after 2001, & is depending on whether or not it will be transformed into a bicycle path. Unfortunately, this second part was never released on both DVD and/or Blu-Ray by Green Frog Productions (which in November of 2025, the Georgia based video company was recently purchased by pentrex), nor that it didn’t come with its own case. Instead it was stored in a plain black cardboard case. Inevitably enough, stock footage from the late October 1992 trip with 611 on Saluda was used.
This product would be best fit for individuals interested in steam trains and railroad history, particularly focusing on N&W 611 and other Saluda steam locomotives.
