Runcorn Bridge was opened in 1868 after tak-ing five years to build. London & North Western Railway, the London Midland & Scottish Railway and British Railways. The new Virgin West Coast Pendolinos will be crossing this historic bridge that is widely seen as a 'national treasure'.
