Underground Ticketing System (UTS) machines were supplied by Westinghouse Cubic from late 1987. TfL still uses UTS in modified form and hugely reduced quantities, as detailed in Wikipedia. Decoding info centrally on the right hand side, machine series starting 01 upwards related to now-closed staffed Ticket Office windows; 10 onwards relate to self-service Fewfare machines; series 31 etc comprise a complex Multifare variant.
