The lamp bears the RD No (patent) number 711206 identifying the lamp conforms to the 1926 patent, it also bears the letter M on the oil tank which identifies it was probably used in a MPD (Motive Power Depot - engine shed) and the B.R.(E) shows it was used on the Eastern Region after 1948.
