A genuine piece of British railway history from the famous Westinghouse Brake & Signal Co. works in Chippenham, Wiltshire. This is a handcrafted wooden matchplate foundry pattern used in sand-casting train brake components. The raised geometries are hand-carved wood finished in traditional red foundry shellac. Features clear, authentic factory markings on the side and face: and chalked "KB" Which I believe maybe means (Knorr-Bremse) from the company integration era. Dimensions: 53cm x 38cm Condition is completely untouched and authentic, straight from the factory tool store with excellent industrial patina. A fantastic, heavy sculptural display piece for railwayana collectors or industrial interior decor.
