British Rail PERTIS tickets were issued for coins from car park-style machines supplied by Almex Control Systems Ltd at stations for use permanently if unstaffed or part-time after staff had gone home. Post-privatisation issues use continued with "British Rail" removed from the lower front though the familiar double arrow logo remained. Long-retired private seller, net proceeds go towards the considerable cost of visits to the stations.
