1962 Savannah & Atlanta Railway Company - rule book - MINT CONDITION

£30.15

The Savannah & Atlanta Railway Company (S&A) was a 142-mile short line that ran from Savannah north to an area between Camak and Warrenton. Founded in 1915, it was never a financial success and went through a variety of reorganizations. The Central of Georgia Railway Company (CofGa) purchased the S&A in 1951 and continued to operate it under the name S&A for a number of years. The S&A and the CofGa were later acquired by the Southern Railway Company, and the remaining lines of both railroads are now operated by Norfolk Southern. For auction is a real jewel from a seldom-found railroad: a rule book from the former S&A.. This rule book is entitled "Operating & Maintenance Rules". It is dated April 1, 1962. Measuring appx 6 3/4 x 4 1/4 inches, it has a hard cover and contains 136 pages.
