An original LNER series Carriage Print issued in the late 1940s/ early 1950s for display in railway carriages. The print survived from the railway stores in the late 1960s and is NOT a reproduction. River Wharfe at Ilkley, Yorkshire by Frank Sherwin R.I. This view of the spa town of Ilkley is dominated by the elder of the two bridges across the River Wharfe in Ilkley. A bridge was here by the mid 15th century. Various floods washed structures away thereafter and what is seen is likely to be from the late 1600s.
